Pengaruh PBL Berbantu Video Pembelajaran Kinemaster terhadap Hasil Belajar IPS SMPN 1 Ngasem

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, supported by Kinemaster learning videos, on improving Social Studies (IPS) learning outcomes among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Ngasem. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, the study involved a sample of 32 students. The findings reveal a significant enhancement in student learning outcomes following the implementation of the video-assisted PBL model. The average class score increased from 60.7 on the pretest to 71.8 on the posttest. Moreover, the proportion of students achieving the passing grade rose markedly from 25% (8 students) to 71% (23 students). Beyond academic performance, students also demonstrated greater engagement, confidence in expressing ideas, and motivation during lessons. These results are consistent with previous research highlighting the effectiveness of PBL and multimedia tools in promoting student comprehension and active learning. In conclusion, the integration of the PBL model with Kinemaster video support is an effective and innovative strategy for addressing low learning outcomes in Social Studies. It is recommended that teachers adopt this approach by leveraging available technology, while schools should ensure the provision of adequate supporting infrastructure. Future research could explore different sample groups or examine the integration of other multimedia tools.
