Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning achievement of class X students in Economics subjects at SMA Muhammadiyah Randublatung which is caused by the learning process that is still centered on the teacher so that students are less active in learning activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by Educaplay media on the learning achievement of class X students at SMA Muhammadiyah Randublatung. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design involving class X-1 as the control class and class X-2 as the experimental class. Data collection techniques are carried out through pretests and posttests using test instruments. Data analysis is carried out using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent t-tests. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant effect of the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by Educaplay media on student learning achievement. This is evidenced by the results of the Independent Sample t-test which obtained a t-value of 44.039 greater than t-table of 1.996 and a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. In addition, the average score of students in the experimental class is higher than the control class after being given treatment. Thus, the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by Educaplay media can be used as an effective learning alternative to improve student learning achievement in Economics subjects
