Abstract

Economics instruction on employment topics in senior high schools tends to be theoretical and lacks contextual relevance, making it difficult for students to understand employment concepts, particularly wage systems. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of Roblox-based learning media integrated with a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach for eleventh-grade students. The media was designed through professional role simulations and a time-based wage system within a virtual Roblox environment to provide contextual learning experiences. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a limited 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The participants consisted of 26 eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and qualitative responses, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, N-Gain, and Spearman’s correlation test. Results showed very high validity (95% media expert validation and 81,25% material expert validation) and practicality (76.67%). Cognitive learning outcomes improved significantly (p < 0.05) with an average N-Gain score of 0.3782 (moderate category). No significant correlation was found between perceived practicality and learning improvement. Therefore, Roblox-based learning media with a PBL approach is considered feasible, practical, and effective in improving students’ understanding of employment concepts.
