This study provides an in-depth examination of literacy activities, the tangible contributions of the program’s literacy initiatives, and the obstacles encountered in their implementation at IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data collection was conducted through field observations, document analysis, and in-depth interviews with academic advisors and student representatives from various cohorts (semesters 2, 4, 6, and 8). Field findings indicate that reading motivation among students is still dominated by academic pragmatism aimed at completing daily coursework (academic-driven). Nevertheless, the interactive discussion sessions and regular book reviews organized by the program have proven to have a significant impact. In addition to sharpening analytical reasoning, this forum also serves as a strategic platform for honing public speaking skills when students are given the role of keynote speakers. On the other hand, the high level of distraction from social media, non-academic commitments, and the limited availability of reference books and current journals in the library present a series of challenges that need to be addressed immediately.
