Implementasi Metode SAW untuk Rekomendasi Penerima Beasiswa bagi Mahasiswa Bondowoso

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan masyarakat. Namun, tingginya biaya pendidikan menjadi kendala bagi sebagian masyarakat untuk melanjutkan pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, DPRD menyalurkan aspirasi masyarakat melalui rekomendasi program bantuan pendidikan berupa beasiswa guna mendukung keberlangsungan pendidikan. Proses seleksi penerima beasiswa sering menghadapi kendala berupa subjektivitas penilaian, keterbatasan waktu, dan kurang konsistennya pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan berbasis web dengan menerapkan metode Simple Additive Weighting untuk menentukan rekomendasi penerima beasiswa secara objektif dan transparan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan empat kriteria utama, yaitu Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK), penghasilan orang tua, jumlah tanggungan keluarga, dan prestasi akademik. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan database MySQL. Metode SAW diterapkan melalui proses pembobotan, normalisasi, dan perangkingan untuk menentukan alternatif terbaik sebagai penerima beasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dikembangkan mampu membantu proses seleksi beasiswa menjadi lebih efektif, akurat, dan transparan serta mempermudah pengelolaan data penerima beasiswa.

Abstract
Education plays an important role in improving the quality of community life. However, the high cost of education has become an obstacle for some people to continue their education. Therefore, the Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) channels community aspirations through recommendations for educational assistance programs in the form of scholarships to support educational sustainability. The scholarship recipient selection process often faces several obstacles, such as subjectivity in assessment, limited time, and inconsistency in decision-making. This study aims to develop a web-based Decision Support System by implementing the Simple Additive Weighting method to determine scholarship recipients objectively and transparently. The study was conducted using four main criteria, namely Grade Point Average (GPA), parents’ income, number of family dependents, and non-academic achievements. The system was developed using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The SAW method was applied through weighting, normalization, and ranking processes to determine the best alternative as the scholarship recipient. The results of the study indicate that the developed system is able to assist the scholarship selection process to become more effective, accurate, and transparent, as well as facilitate the management of scholarship recipient data.
