Abstract

Abstract

This study's overarching goal is to find out how well students do in Economics classes that use the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach, with the help of Smart Box as supplementary materials, while studying fiscal policy. A total of thirty-four students from grades eleven through twelve at SMA Negeri 1 Kalitidu participated in this quantitative study, which used a one-group pretest-posttest design. Methods for gathering data included conducting experiments, making notes, and reviewing results. With a computed t-value of -20.001, which surpasses the critical t-value of 2.034, and a significance level of 0.001, which is less than 0.05, the results showed that students' learning outcomes improved significantly after the PBL model with Smart Box was implemented. We reject the null hypothesis (Ho) and accept the alternative hypothesis (Ha) based on these findings, which show that the PBL paradigm supported by Smart Box has a positive and substantial influence on students' academic performance. This paradigm may be seen as a practical and efficient way to teach economics in schools, therefore improving the quality of such instruction.
