NILAI KEWARGANEGARAAN DALAM LAGU BERJUDUL 1984 KARYA SID SEBAGAI MEDIA LITERASI PPKN
Abstract
Punk rock music serves as a form of popular culture that frequently functions as a medium for social expression and criticism of political and economic realities. This study aims to identify and analyze the civic values contained in the lyrics of the song titled "1984" by the band Superman Is Dead (SID), as well as to examine its potential as a literacy medium in Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach toward the song lyrics and its production context. The results show that the song "1984", which was inspired by George Orwell's novel and combines elements of punk rock with keroncong music, contains profound criticisms of authoritarianism, restrictions on individual freedom, and social injustice. The active civic values discovered include human rights awareness, critical attitude toward power, and democratic spirit. Through a strong ideological message packaged in a popular style, this song is considered relevant and effective to be utilized as an interactive PPKn literacy medium to enhance the critical awareness of students in the contemporary
