EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL SIKLUS BELAJAR PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMPN 2 SUMBERREJO BOJONEGORO

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model siklus belajar (learning cycle) dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro. Model siklus belajar yang digunakan meliputi lima tahap, yaitu eksplorasi, penemuan konsep, diskusi dan penjelasan, elaborasi, serta evaluasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model siklus belajar dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes hasil belajar, observasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model siklus belajar dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Selain itu, model siklus belajar juga mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan memperoleh respon positif dari siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan model siklus belajar terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the learning cycle model in mathematics learning for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro. The learning cycle model used includes five stages, namely exploration, concept discovery, discussion and explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group research design. The subjects of the study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class using the learning cycle model and the control class using the conventional learning model. Data collection techniques were carried out through learning outcome tests, observation of student activities, and student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the learning cycle model compared to conventional learning. In addition, the learning cycle model was also able to increase students' active involvement in the learning process and obtain positive responses from students. Thus, the application of the learning cycle model has proven effective in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sumberrejo, Bojonegoro.
