DAMPAK SCROLLING TANPA HENTI: ANALISIS DAMPAK MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP POLA PIKIR, KESEHATAN MENTAL, DAN DINAMIKA KEHIDUPAN MODERN SERTA PERSPEKTIF DI ERA DIGITAL
Abstract

Abstract
This study analyzes the phenomenon of endless scrolling on social media platforms and its impact on various aspects of modern human life. In the fast-paced digital era, continuous content consumption behavior has become a dominant habit and affects the psychological well-being of its users. Through a quantitative approach, this study identified that compulsive scrolling behavior is correlated with increased symptoms of anxiety, depression, and attention disorders. Data collected from in-depth interviews and literature studies indicate that addiction-based algorithms designed by social media platforms systematically trigger dopamine release, creating a cycle of instant validation and gratification that is difficult to break. The results of the study showed significant changes in users' mindsets, including decreased attention span, increased ineffective multitasking tendencies, and the development of "fear of missing out" (FOMO). In the context of social life, this phenomenon has changed the dynamics of interpersonal interactions, creating a paradox of virtual connectedness but physical separation. This study also explores how endless scrolling affects productivity, sleep quality, and perception of reality. The conclusions point to the urgency of developing a comprehensive digital wellbeing strategy, including critical digital literacy, mindfulness practices in technology use, and ethical design on social media platforms. The implications of this study provide valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and technology developers in creating a healthier and more sustainable digital ecosystem.
