Abstract
abstract— The aim of this research is to examine the role of audio-visual media in improving literacy and student learning outcomes. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, and the results show that audio-visual learning media such as TikTok and Canva can foster students' interest in literacy. The literacy movement through audio-visual learning media is growing by utilizing digital platforms such as TikTok and Canva. TikTok, with its short video format and advanced algorithm, enables the rapid and engaging dissemination of information and educational materials. Through short videos, educators and content creators can convey complex literacy concepts in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way, thereby increasing user interest and participation, especially the younger generation. On the other hand, Canva provides intuitive graphic design tools and a variety of templates, which make it easier for users to create attractive and professional audio-visual learning materials. With Canva, teachers and students can produce infographics, presentations and other visual media that support the literacy teaching and learning process. The combination of ease of use and quality of results makes Canva a popular choice among educators and students. These two platforms, with their respective uniqueness and advantages, contribute significantly to the digital literacy movement. TikTok helps spread information quickly and captures the attention of audiences, while Canva provides the means to create engaging and effective educational content. Together, they play an important role in improving literacy skills through a modern and fun learning approach.
