Abstract

Abstract— The introduction of the concept of numbers in early childhood plays a crucial role in forming the foundations of their intellectual development. Although often overlooked, the importance of introducing number concepts at an early stage of child development has been supported by recent research. This article aims to explore the urgency of in-troducing the concept of numbers in early childhood and highlighting the benefits ob-tained through the right approach in their learning. In the introductory chapter, we de-scribe the background and formulate the problems underlying this research. Recent re-search shows that the introduction of number concepts in early childhood has a signifi-cant impact on their future math skills. However, the general view that children at an early age are not ready to understand complex mathematical concepts often ignores the importance of this introduction. In the literature review chapter, we review research and theories related to the introduction of the concept of numbers in early childhood. We explore the contributions of experts and important findings that support the urgen-cy of introducing the concept of numbers at the early stages of child development. Through this research, we hope to strengthen understanding about the importance of introducing the concept of numbers in early childhood and increase awareness of the benefits that can be obtained through the right approach in their learning. Further-more, this article discusses the urgency of introducing the concept of numbers, which includes its impact on children's math skills in the future. We discuss why the intro-duction of number concepts at an early age is an important foundation for future more complex math skills. In addition, we outline effective learning approaches and strate-gies for introducing number concepts to young children. It is hoped that this article can provide practical guidance to parents, educators, and education stakeholders regarding steps that can be taken in introducing the concept of numbers to young children. In ad-dition, it is hoped that this article can also encourage further research in this field, to enrich early childhood education literature and practice.
