Peningkatan Penguasaan Vocabulary Bahasa Inggris (Vocabulary) melalui Metode Pembelajaran Take and Give

Abstract


Vocabulary is one of the elements in teaching English in schools. Vocabulary is a basic competency that must be mastered by students to get other competencies such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It is difficult to master other competencies without mastering and understanding Vocabulary. This study aims to improve the mastery of English Vocabulary at Tenth grade students of SMK PGRI II through the Take and Give learning model. In conducting the research, the researcher used classroom action research. The data analysis technique used is to compare pre-cycle, first-cycle and second cycle learning outcomes. To collect and analyze data, researchers used interviews, observations and student learning outcomes as well as pre-test and post-test to support the data collected. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Take and Give learning method at Tenth grade students of SMK PGRI II can increase their English Vocabulary. The students' responses showed that they were interested in learning English Vocabulary through the Take and Give method. Student achievement in the pre-test and post-test showed a significant increase. This is in accordance with student learning outcomes to achieve the set target, namely KKM or (70). The indicator of success also shows that who achieve the mastery learning are 75% of all students.
