EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN TIPE TEAM GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) TERHADAP PENCAPAIAN AKADEMIK SISWA DALAM MATERI ARITMATIKA SOSIAL

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa, khususnya pada materi Aritmatika Sosial di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dan Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mensintesis temuan dari berbagai studi relevan, sedangkan pendekatan kuantitatif menganalisis data numerik seperti rata-rata hasil belajar, persentase peningkatan, dan effect size. Data dikumpulkan dari artikel, jurnal, dan laporan penelitian yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2019 hingga 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model pembelajaran TGT secara konsisten memberi efek positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa, termasuk peningkatan rata-rata berkisar antara 10% hingga lebih dari 30%. Selain itu, juga meningkatkan aktivitas dan keterlibatan siswa selama proses pembelajaran, yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Variasi efektivitas model TGT dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti kesiapan guru, karakteristik siswa, dan konteks pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan guru dan dukungan institusional sangat diperlukan untuk memastikan implementasi model TGT yang optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT sebagai strategi inovatif meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di jenjang SMP dan Madrasah Tsanawiyah.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes, especially on Social Arithmetic material at the Junior High School (SMP) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah levels. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The qualitative approach is used to identify and synthesize findings from various relevant studies, while the quantitative approach analyzes numerical data such as average learning outcomes, percentage improvement, and effect size. Data were collected from articles, journals, and research reports published between 2019 and 2024. The results showed that the TGT learning model consistently had a positive and significant effect on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes, including average improvements ranging from 10% to more than 30%. In addition, it also increased student activity and engagement during the learning process, which contributed to improvements in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Variations in the effectiveness of the TGT model are influenced by factors such as teacher readiness, student characteristics, and the context of learning implementation. Therefore, teacher training and institutional support are necessary to ensure optimal implementation of the TGT model. This study recommends the application of the TGT type cooperative learning model as an innovative strategy to improve the quality of mathematics learning at the junior high school and madrasah Tsanawiyah levels.
