Abstract

Abstract

Mathematics comes from the Greek mathemtica which is taken from the Greek mathemtike which means "relating to learning". This term ends with the word mathema which means learning (thinking). The thinking abilities of mathematics students, especially at junior high school (SMP) level, have yet to develop effective mathematics learning strategies, especially in improving students' critical thinking skills in flat-sided geometric material and can also be a reference for teachers. The type of research used in this research is experimental research. The data analysis technique uses the T-test formula. The test results showed that: This can be seen from the value of tobs > ttable or 21.16 > 0.152 at the 5% significance level, which means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking abilities.
