Upaya Pencegahan Hoax yang Menggunakan Teknologi AI di Era Digital

Abstract

abstrak—Artikel ini menganalisis dampak adanya era digital, di mana tingginya ketergantungan masyarakat pada teknologi, khususnya media sosial, telah menciptakan kerentanan serius terhadap penyebaran disinformasi. Kesulitan ini semakin meningkat dengan kemunculan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) yang memfasilitasi pembuatan hoax. Penanggulangan hoax di Indonesia terhambat oleh dualisme masalah: kelemahan kerangka regulasi dan penegakan hukum yang gagal memberikan efek jera, serta rendahnya literasi digital publik. Meskipun negara telah mengatur sanksi pidana melalui Undang-Undang ITE terhadap penyebaran berita bohong, efektivitasnya dalam memutus rantai hoax masih dipertanyakan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan strategis yang menyeluruh, yang menuntut perpaduan antara penegakan sanksi hukum yang tegas dengan tanggung jawab kolektif masyarakat untuk secara aktif memverifikasi informasi, bersikap bijaksana, dan mengedepankan cara berpikir rasional.

Abstract— This article analyzes the impact of the digital era, where society's high dependence on technology, especially social media, has created serious vulnerabilities to the spread of disinformation. This difficulty is increasing with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology which facilitates the creation of hoaxes. Tackling hoaxes in Indonesia is hampered by a dualism of problems: weaknesses in the regulatory framework and law enforcement that fail to provide a deterrent effect, as well as low public digital literacy. Even though the state has regulated criminal sanctions through the ITE Law against the spread of fake news, its effectiveness in breaking the chain of hoaxes is still questionable. Therefore, a comprehensive strategic approach is needed, which requires a combination of strict enforcement of legal sanctions with the collective responsibility of society to actively verify information, act wisely, and promote rational thinking.
